Merrick Preparatory School has been awarded on the first-ever published Fortune list of the World’s Leading Boarding Schools 2023. This prestigious award is presented by Fortune and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking providers. The ranking list was announced on February 28th, 2023, and can be viewed on the Fortune website.

Fortune and Statista selected the World’s Leading Boarding Schools in 2023 through an independent survey applied to a vast sample of more than 700 participants and 2000 evaluations. The evaluation was based on recommendations collected from heads of boarding schools and heads of admissions of boarding schools, as well as boarding school advisors (agents/educational consultants), alumni, and parents of boarding school students. The leading boarding schools were presented with ratings of 4 and 5 stars.

17 Canadian Boarding Schools made the World’s Leading Boarding Schools in 2023 list and Merrick Preparatory School is the only non-CAIS school listed which is an even greater achievement for us.

Based on the results of the study, Merrick Preparatory School is ecstatic to be recognized on Fortune Education’s list of the World’s Leading Boarding Schools in 2023 and the World’s Leading Boarding Schools in Canada.

The ranking consists of 250 top-rated boarding schools around the world, 17 of them being Canadian. In partnership with the market research company Statista, this inaugural list is based on recommendations made by the heads of schools and heads of admissions via a peer-to-peer survey, boarding school consultants and agents, and parents and alumni. These online surveys were conducted between June 30, 2022, and November 15, 2022, generating thousands of recommendations for boarding schools from this group of stakeholders. The evaluation did not count or consider recommendations of one’s own boarding school.

The Head of Schools and Head of Admissions nominated and evaluated other boarding schools. Parents and Alumni evaluated their own schools. Boarding School Agents and Consultants were able to nominate and evaluate boarding schools. The schools that scored 4 to 5 stars are now featured on this World’s Best Boarding School List which is presented in alphabetical order.
